Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Rooted app and related services (the "Services"). By using Rooted, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Use of the App

Rooted is a plant care app that allows you to create plant profiles, upload plant photos, save care information, track watering history, view next watering data, receive reminders, and use certain premium features.

You agree to use the app only in a lawful and responsible way and not to interfere with the app, its infrastructure, or other users.

2. Accounts

An account is required to use Rooted. You must sign in before accessing the app’s plant care features, including creating plant profiles, saving care routines, using reminders, and accessing premium features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it as needed. You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Plant Care and AI Information Disclaimer

Rooted may provide plant care tracking tools, AI plant identification, and AI-generated plant details. These features are offered for general informational use within the app.

AI responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable. You are responsible for how you use information provided by the app and for reviewing plant information carefully before relying on it.

4. Premium Subscription

Rooted may offer a premium subscription that includes features such as unlimited plants and AI plant identification or AI-generated details. Premium features may change over time, but any changes will not remove access to features you have already paid for during your active subscription period unless required for legal, security, or operational reasons.

5. Free Trial

We may offer a free trial for premium access. If a free trial is offered, its duration, eligibility, and feature access may vary and may be shown in the app at the time of offer.

Unless otherwise stated in the offer, a paid subscription may begin automatically after the free trial ends if you do not cancel in time through Apple.

6. Billing, Auto-Renewal, and Cancellation

Rooted subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and StoreKit, not directly by Rooted. Subscriptions may renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, according to Apple's billing rules.

You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings on your device.

7. Deleting the App Does Not Cancel Subscription

Deleting the Rooted app from your device does not cancel an active subscription. You must cancel through your Apple ID subscription settings if you want to stop renewal.

8. Deleting Your Rooted Account Does Not Cancel Subscription

Deleting your Rooted account also does not cancel an active App Store subscription. If you want to stop renewal, you must cancel through your Apple ID subscription settings.

9. Refunds

Refunds for in-app purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple according to Apple's policies. Rooted does not directly issue billing refunds for App Store purchases.

Apple and RevenueCat may retain billing, subscription, transaction, refund, fraud prevention, tax, legal, and compliance records according to their own policies.

10. User Content and Photos

You may upload photos, plant notes, descriptions, and other content to the app ("User Content"). You keep ownership of your User Content, but you give Rooted a limited license to host, store, process, display, and use that content only as needed to operate, improve, and provide the Services.

You are responsible for the content you upload and represent that you have the right to upload it.

11. App Infrastructure and Third-Party Services

Rooted uses third-party providers including Firebase, Firebase AI, Google Gemini, RevenueCat, and Apple's App Store and StoreKit to support authentication, storage, subscriptions, AI features, app security, and related functionality.

12. Service Availability

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of Rooted at any time. We do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

13. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app in a way that violates law or another person's rights.
• Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data without authorization.
• Upload malicious code or interfere with the security of the Services.
• Copy, reverse engineer, scrape, or misuse the app except where law allows it.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Rooted and its affiliates, service providers, licensors, and partners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to your use of the Services.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Rooted's total liability for any claim related to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid for Rooted Premium in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $100 if greater.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Rooted if we believe these Terms have been violated or if doing so is necessary to protect the app, users, or our services.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we may update the effective date and post the revised Terms through the app or related public pages.
